home-for-sale-in-santa-monica
home-for-sale-in-santa-monica, santa-monica-homes-for-sale-, santa-monica-homes-California is one of the states that have been hit the hardest by the credit and housing crisis. Years ago, the only homes that went into foreclosure were those that were in blighted areas. Today, however, there are homes in the nicest areas in Los Angeles that have been foreclosed upon. Even some celebrities have faced foreclosure in LA. If you want to see what is out there before you make your move, you can go online and take a look at the Los Angeles foreclosure listings that are provided by agents who usually work for banks. If you see something that you like, then you can work with a realtor to make an offer. You can usually make an offer for less than the listing price on properties that are not substantially below market however homes that are price at way below market tend to go fast and over asking.

Most of the Los Angeles foreclosures are not in excellent condition as banks can foreclose without going through the court system in California. You can find a great deal of bargains when it comes to homes in this area if you take the time to look at the Los Angeles foreclosure listings that are available. This can be your ticket to paradise in sunny Los Angeles, California and it does not have to cost you a lot of money.

With the prominence of the Spanish architecture in the California region in the beginning of the 20th century, a large number of homes in the Hollywood hills were modeled on the Spanish style. The Spanish Colonial and the Spanish Mission revival style are the two popular forms of Spanish architectural style.

Luxury living amidst tranquil nature, there are several styles of architectural designed homes in the Hollywood hills. Located in the Santa Monica mountains overlooking the city of Los Angeles, Hollywood hills has become synonymous with high end living and privacy which makes it a favorite with the celebrities. From the English Tudor style to the French Normandy style or the Mediterranean style, there is an array of architectural designed homes in the Hollywood hills.

A former Spanish colony, Spanish architecture has always been popular in the Southwest. While the rest of the country religiously followed the English architectural style, California and the Southwest chose the Spanish style, which became really popular in the late 19th century. The dawn of the 20th century saw the Spanish Colonial and Mission revival style gaining popularity. After the opening of the Panama Canal, in 1915 the San Diego exposition, which saw the participation of Bertram Goodhue, Irving Gill, and Carleton Winslow Sr., popularized the Spanish Colonial revival style across the whole nation. The period between 1915 and 1931 saw a craze among Hollywood stars to get their homes modeled on the Spanish Colonial revival style. The large number of Spanish architectural designed homes in the Hollywood hills being proof of the very fact.

The Spanish Mission revival style is almost similar to the Spanish Colonial revival style with just a few differences. Both these styles of architecture also include elements of the California Mission as well as the Pueblo Revival style of the southwest and west, sourced from the traditional architectural style of the Pueblo people of New Mexico. Remember, almost all homes will show problems. Even newly constructed homes will have problems noted on an inspection report.
